Now is the time to check bicycling off your bucket list! As an adult, it’s hard to find the time, space and instruction needed to learn the basics of cycling. Bike Athens is collaborating with Athens-Clarke County Trails & Open Space to make it safe and friendly for grown folks to get on a bike and learn to ride. Small class size, private space, bikes and gear, expert instructors, everything you need to get off to a good start.
This event will explore ways in which we can harness the increasing recognition of the value of parks and protected areas for human health and well-being, social cohesion and recovery, economic benefits as well as achieving conservation outcomes. Parks have emerged as essential to healthy, resilient communities during the pandemic, but the crisis has also laid bare the dire inequalities in outdoor access across the nation. Right now, we’re on the brink of a defining legislative victory: securing full and dedicated funding to the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
