Hapeville Crit (Spin the District 2023)

Saturday, April 29, 2023 is the first day of the last weekend of Speed Week. Join us for an action-packed afternoon of fast-paced family fun, with a city-block race course, artist market and food trucks just off of Hapeville’s Downtown Arts District.

It’s an all-day celebration with food and entertainment, plus free activities for kids and adults, including an artist market with great local vendors. Also, some of the country’s best cyclists will be participating in the fastest annual criterium event in the Southeast, if you’re into that sort of thing. You don’t need to know the first thing about cycling to enjoy the day’s events, but if you’re wondering what to expect, think Formula One on two human-powered wheels. The bikes come past faster than you’d think, with riders pushing 1500 watts—enough to power your dishwasher! With fields of over 100 cyclists in some hotly-contested races, that’s one heck of a lot of clean dishes.

Check the Party Info page for a rundown of activities and up-to-the-minute schedules. Oh—and this being a bike-positive event, we’ll have a complimentary bicycle valet available for anyone arriving on two wheels. You know what that means…get on your bikes and ride!

Start Location
Hapeville First Baptist Church, 612 College St, 30354, Hapeville, Georgia, USA

THE EXCITING CONCLUSION OF SPEED WEEK 2023
Sunday, April 30, 2023 marks the Speed Week Finals and our famous Bayou Block Party! See some of the nation’s fastest cyclists compete for the crown in our uniquely thrilling uphill Criterium, while you enjoy a crawfish boil, artist market, food trucks and more at our one-of-a-kind family festival.

DON’T FORGET THE FEAST!
We’re looking forward to a beautiful day in College Park. The racing is the main attraction, but there’s much more to every Spin event, including food trucks, artists’ markets, music, games, and more. You don’t need to be a cycling fan to come out and hang. The crawfish can’t tell the difference.

Did we mention there will be crawfish?

VIP crawfish experiences can be reserved in advance (watch out for more details on that). If the bugs ain’t your bag, no worries: we’ll have food trucks with other yummies to choose from, and plenty of fun activities to enjoy while we celebrate this year’s final Spin the District Criterium.

College Park Police & Fire Department, 3720 College St, 30337, College Park, Georgia, USA

Union City Crit (Spin the District 2023)

Tuesday, April 25, we’ll kick off the 2023 Spin the District season with our first-ever evening criterium in beautiful Union City. It’s only a few minutes outside Atlanta, but you’ll feel like you’re at an outdoor disco a thousand miles away.

WHAT’S GOING ON
For the first time in history, Speed Week is coming to Union City! The Tuesday night races will take place under the streetlights, alongside a family-friendly disco-themed street festival with food, music and activities. You don’t need to be a cycling fan to come to the event, but you just might be by the time you leave. We’ve set up a tough course with a tight turn that’s sure to make for some exciting spectating, and there’s a lot on the line for these riders, so get ready to cheer—and dig this, the whole event is free to attend! Bring a blanket or a groovy camp chair and watch stunning athletic skills whizz past by lamplight while you chillax in the warm spring air.
