27th Annual Cruisin’ in the Country Bicycle Ride

The Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor the
27th Annual Cruisin’ in the Country Bicycle Ride, Saturday, November 11th, 2023. This year’s event will be headquartered at the Evans County Public Fishing Area, 4757 Area Line Road, Claxton, Georgia.
Cruisin’ is a family friendly bicycle ride. It is not a race. Six different ride options will be offered to ensure there’s a ride suited for each skill level. Whatever route you choose, you will travel roads with minimal traffic and enjoy the beautiful countryside. While riding, you will benefit from SAG vehicles patrolling the routes as well as our award-winning, friendly, themed rest stops located every 10 to 20 miles. Rest stops will be stocked with water, Power-Ade, and various snacks. In addition, port-a-potties and/or rest rooms, and hand-washing stations will be available at each stop.
Six route options will be offered: 16- mile, 24- mile, 37- mile, 50- mile, 66- mile and the 100- mile, “Royce Smith Century Route”. Smith, a former UGA All-American football player, passed away unexpectedly in 2004. A co-founder of Cruisin’, he will always be remembered as having put his heart and soul into building this event. Maps and cue sheets are available to download and will also be available for pick-up at Cruisin’ headquarters. You can also access route information via Active.com
We are pleased to offer 3 registration schedules for Cruisin’. Early Bird registration is $45 and will be offered May 1st until August 31st. The registration fee for September 1st through October 31st is $55. Registration from November 1st through November 11th (including walk-up registrations) is $65. Active and retired military can register for $45, at any time. (Please note – event t-shirts CANNOT be guaranteed for registrations received after October 15th.) On-site registration will be offered at Cruisin’ Headquarters, Saturday, November 11th, beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Pecan Shaker | Gravel Roll

Pecan Shaker celebrates the timeless tradition of pecan shaking. Except this time, you’re the pecan tree and the shaker is miles of gravel roads. Speed past pecan groves and over a wide variety of surface conditions, just like the terrain on our Bird Dog 100 course.

BRAG Spring TuneUp 2023

For Spring Tune-Up, riders travel at their own pace along a set route that includes rest stops with your favorite refreshments. You may choose to ride as many or as few miles as you like, ranging from 20 – 100 miles. The start/finish will be at the same location all weekend. At the end of each day’s ride, there will be food & drinks, hot showers, live music, and games. Some riders will choose to stay at local hotels.

Tony Serrano Century Ride

Our mission is to continue to raise awareness of bicycling rights and laws, promote bicycle safety, health and well being thru bicycling.

Our ride was originally organized by a group of family and friends created to honor Tony Serrano’s memory after he was tragically hit from behind and unfortunately killed in 2004 while training on his bike for an Ironman competition.

25th Anniversary Cruisin’ in the Country Bicycle Ride

Come ride with us and celebrate 25 years of Cruisin’ fun! The 25th Annual Cruisin’ in the Country Bicycle Ride is set for Saturday, November 13th, 2021. Cruisin’ headquarters has moved to the new Event Center at the Evans County Public Fishing Area, 4757 Area Line Road, Claxton, GA 30417.

All routes begin and end at the Evans County Public Fishing Area, the NEW Cruisin’ headquarters. With six route options to choose from, there’s a ride suited for every skill level.

Routes will travel paved roads through Evans, Tattnall, Candler and Bulloch counties with rest stops located every 10 to 15 miles and support for riders all throughout the day.

Riding a bicycle is a healthy and fun form of exercise for all ages. Register now and make plans to join us for the 25th Anniversary Cruisin’ in the Country Ride! Registration will be held at event center Friday November 12th 4:00- 5:00 PM. It will begin again November 13th at the event center at 7:00 AM.

Chattooga Century 2021

Take a tour of the lovely North Georgia mountains with the option of 15M, 30M, Metric, Century and 125M rides. The rolling terrain will accommodate all riders with the Century and 125M options testing even the most experienced riders with a climb up beautiful Lookout Mountain.
