Kroc to Lock Bike Ride

Celebrate National Bike Month and kick off National Bike to Work Week with all your family and friends at the Kroc to Lock bike ride! This is a great way to enjoy the day aboard your bike at your own pace!
The approximately 10 mile ride will start at Kroc Augusta, proceed up the Augusta Canal Towpath to the Headgates (or turn around anywhere along the way) and then head back to the green space at the Kroc for a post-ride picnic! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, we’ll take care of the rest!
We’ll have the grill going with hotdogs (veggie dogs available upon request), cold drinks for everyone, and we’ll be treating everyone to ice cold Pelican’s Sno-Balls!
Oh, AND, we’ll have a live DJ set by Matt the Mod!

Good times guaranteed!

Need another reason to sign up? 100% of event net proceeds will benefit the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area and future biking related projects!

Macon Car Free Day

Join the movement to go car-free in Macon on May 20th. By pledging to use alternative transportation (public transit, biking, or walking) or reduce your car use (ridesharing, carpooling, or teleworking), you can explore new options, improve air quality, reduce emissions, save money, meet new people, and see your community from a different lens. Whether you’re on your way to work, school, the park, or to run errands, Car Free Day is a chance to see all the benefits of alternative transportation.
Help us reach our goal of 200 Maconites going car-free on May 20th by signing the car-free pledge today!

Jane’s Walk Macon

Jane’s Walk is an annual festival of free, community-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs. On the first weekend of May every year, Jane’s Walk festivals take place in hundreds of cities around the world. Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighborhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbors.
Bike Walk Macon is facilitating free, citizen-led walking conversations to explore our city, share stories about our community and connect with our neighbors.

The 2022 Schedule will focus on Historic Pleasant Hill and Vineville Neighborhoods with Caitlin Mee as the designated Bike Walk Macon City Organizer.

Fix Your Own Bike Night at Home!

Thursdays just aren’t the same without BikeAthens’ weekly Fix Your Own Bike sessions so they are hosting a FYOB Zoom Meeting! You can’t use their tools, you can’t come into the shop, but you can get as much of their solid advice as you need so you can take the next steps toward getting your bike riding right again. If you just want to hang out and talk bikes, that’s cool too. Email shop@bikeathens.org for registration info.
