Bike in for the Arts at Oakland Cemetery

Ride your bicycle into the cemetery on Sunday, May 30, for Historic Oakland Foundation’s Bike in for the Arts tabling event! From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you’ll have the opportunity to meet with local bike organizations and learn more about the bicycle resources in your community. Participating organizations include Civil Bikes, Bicycle Tours of Atlanta, the Atlanta Students Advocating for Pedestrians, and more!

This event is being held in celebration of Bike Month, in conjunction with out annual Arts at Oakland event. This year’s Arts program is free and open to the public, honoring the role that Oakland Cemetery has played this year as an open and accessible green space for our community. As a cultural foundation focused on equity and access, Oakland seeks to promote and support our bike and alternative transportation community.

Prison to Peanuts Bicycle Adventure

Join Sumter Cycling, the River Valley Regional Commission, Jimmy Carter National Historic Site, and Andersonville National Historic Site for the Prison to Peanuts Bicycle Adventure. We encourage riders of all levels and skills to join us on this amazing opportunity to visit beautiful sites in Sumter County, Georgia, and visit Americus, Andersonville and Plains by bicycle. No need for horse-power, just your-power! Prison to Peanuts will once again be in downtown Americus. All rides will start and end at Lenny’s Market (110 N. Hampton St.). We plan to provide lunch and peanut butter ice cream at the finish and hope you will stay and enjoy downtown Americus.
