Webinar: Bicycling is Essential — Especially to Essential Workers
April 9, 2020 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm EDT
The Coronavirus has changed many peoples’ day to day routines. For people who rely on public transit, it has created a tension between getting places and their personal safety. In many places, this has meant more people biking. People who deliver meals, people who work in health care, people who work in grocery stores, and others essential workers have turned to biking for transportation.
Recognizing this need, organizations have sprung into action to help provide bicycles to essential workers. In this webinar, you will hear from Transportation Alternatives, who created #BikeMatch in New York City to match unused bicycles with essential workers, and JUMP, who is offering free bike share memberships in cities such as Seattle to essential workers.
