Coastal Bicycle Touring Club

November 5, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT

We are not holding a regular ride in Savannah on the 5th because many members are participating in the Three Rivers Ride below. Also, the next Saturday, we venture a little close to Claxton for the annual Cruisin’ in the Country ride. Both of these rides are excellent and we urge you to join us!

Saturday, 5 November, 7:30am, Three Rivers Ride, St. Marys, GA. A traditional club “away” ride, starting and ending at the St. Marys Howard Gilman Memorial Waterfront Park. Routes starting at 10 miles all the way up to a full century (100 miles). Traditional post-ride “Best in Class” chili and all the fixings provided by ride support staff.

Saturday, 12 November, 7:30am, Cruising‘ in the Country, Claxton, GA. A traditional club “away” ride, starting and ending at the Evans County Public Fishing Area, 4757 Area Line Road, Claxton, GA. Cruising’ is a family friendly bicycle ride, not a race. Six different ride options: 16, 24, 37, 50, 66 and 100 miles. The century ride is the “Royce Smith Century Route. Smith, a former UGA All-American football player, died unexpectedly in 2004. A co-founder of Cruising’ he will be remembered as having put his heart and soul into building this event. Post-ride eats, lake-side, in the beauty and splendor of the 372-acre Evans County Public Fishing Area.
