Back on the Bike- Adult Biking Class
April 10 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am EDTFree
Back on the Bike is the second course in Bike Walk Macon’s three-class beginner’s bicycling course for adults. This class is for novice bicyclists or for those who may have tried riding a bike a few times, but are not comfortable balancing, starting and stopping, shifting gears, and scanning the environment while pedaling. Students will learn bike handling which includes balancing, pedaling and steering control along with teaching several emergency hazard avoidance techniques. Students will finish the class with the skills to advance to “Level 3: Urban Confidence” in May.
Students may sign up for the three-class course or individual classes.
This class is FREE to attend for adults 18 and up, but please pre-register at backonthebikeclass.eventbrite.com to help us prepare for the class.
Registration begins at 9:00am in the Luther Williams Field parking lot. Class will begin at 9:30am and last for about 2 hours. We’ll have FREE Bike Walk Macon lights, snacks, and water. Be sure to bring your helmet!
Bike Walk Macon has a limited supply of bicycles for use, though we recommend bringing your own bike since it is best to learn to ride on the bike you will be using most. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to borrow a bike.
This class is made possible by a Georgia Office of Highway Safety Grant.
