Cheryl Burnette

CHAIR

Cheryl Burnette began working with the City of Decatur in 2002 and became Assistant Director of Decatur Active Living in 2010. Responsibilities include marketing the Active Living Division, coordinating the city’s Safe Routes to School Initiative, and being a community advocate for safe bicycling and walking.  She played a role in Decatur becoming a Silver Level Walk Friendly Community and a Bicycle Friendly Community. She graduated from Furman University and received her Master of Arts Degree from Emory University. Cheryl is an avid cyclist who relishes time on her bike. She enjoys working with new riders to increase safety as well as to encourage community members to “get on their bikes and ride!” She also a Certified Yoga Instructor.
