Thanks to the grassroots advocacy of Georgia’s cycling community, HB 101 was signed into law by Governor Deal! The changes made by the bill, including a 3 foot passing distance requirement, go into effect on July 1st. This new law is a great step forward for bicycle safety, but it will only be effective if it is widely known by Georgia’s drivers.

The state’s bike shops, cycling clubs, and advocacy organizations can help get the word out by hosting a 3 Feet 2 Pass Ride on the weekend of July 1st, when the law goes into effect!

Thanks to all those who have already scheduled a 3 Feet 2 Pass Ride!

Rides are currently scheduled in Atlanta, Athens, Augusta, Norcross, LaGrange, & Savannah. Sponsoring organizations
include the Southern Bicycle League, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, Athens GA Bicycling Club, BikeAthens, Wheel Movement,
Ravinia Rollers, West Georgia Flyers, and the Savannah Bicycle Campaign.

Please feel free to modify and use our 3 Feet 2 Pass Ride press release to alert your local media about your ride.
